The Ruler Overlay app is designed to be a simple, privacy-focused utility. We believe your data belongs to you, and we aim to be as transparent as possible about how the app operates.
We do not collect any personal information. The Ruler Overlay app does not require an account, and it does not transmit any of your measurements or screenshots to our servers.
When analytics is enabled for a distributed build, the app may send anonymous usage events such as app opens together with basic technical context like platform and build mode. These events do not include your measurements, screenshots, or other personal content.
All measurements and calibration data are stored locally on your device to ensure the app functions correctly across sessions.
The app may require certain system permissions to function, such as window management and screen information. These permissions are used exclusively to provide the ruler functionality on your desktop.
We use Shorebird for distributing app updates and managing releases. Shorebird may receive minimal technical metadata required to deliver updates (for example: app version, build identifier, and platform). Shorebird is not used to collect your measurements, screenshots, or personal content.
There are no advertisements, and the app does not share your measurement content or screenshots with other third parties.
